Tangshan Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Mayor Guoying Chen delivered an annual government report at the fifth meeting of the city's 13th People's Congress. In the report, Mayor Chen reviewed the city's major achievements in 2011 and detailed plans and tasks in 2012. The report states that the introductions of high-tech projects like that of nanogenerator will improve Tangshan's industrial structure. In 2012 the city government will speed up the development of strategic emerging industries, strengthen guidance and policy support, cultivate and develop high-tech products, accelerate their commercialization, and strive to establish industry-wide advantage. The report places great emphasis on key projects like nanogenerator and vows to make essential progress.
